Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb said that he told coach Mike Shanahan he would like to remain in Washington and in a Redskins uniform next season, The Washington Post reports. McNabb was benched last weekend in favor of Rex Grossman.
McNabb told Shanahan Tuesday he “doesn’t want to go anywhere.” He acknowledged on his weekly ESPN 980 radio show that the decision was ultimately not up to him, but he has made it clear that he would like to remain in Washington, despite the uncertainty of his status with the team.
Grossman, in his first start with the Redskins on Sunday against the Cowboys, threw for 322 yards on 25 of 43 passing. Grossman threw for four touchdowns in the 33-30 loss.
